The Pleasantview Diaires

The Dreamer Family Part 1

Darren has loved Cassandra for a long time. His wife died and he’s been left single since and is trying to paint to earn money. Meanwhile, his son Dirk is dating local bad girl Lilith Pleasant. Will she turn him bad? Or will he turn her good? Will Darren be able to get Cassandra, and will he make a living with painting?

Monday

As we know, Darren and Cassandra are technically already engaged, but I haven’t played any of this household yet so I’m not moving her in or acting like they’re together until Friday, which is when it happened in Goth time. So the household starts with Darren paying all the bills around the house. There’s a lot and he really is behind. After everything is paid, they’re left with little money. He needs to either get painting or get a job, otherwise they won’t be able to pay the bills coming up tomorrow!

Darren starts painting to try and bring in some cash. Painting can take a while though and usually the first few don’t bring in too much fund wise. He’s hoping he can improve quickly.

Dirk gets home from school, but he’s not the happiest there. He wants to get into private school. With his dad distracted with his painting, Dirk calls the headmaster himself and attempts to make a mac and cheese dinner. He ends up burning it.

Dirk starts grilling hot dogs next. He doesn’t know if they’ll impress the headmaster much, but he’s not very skilled with cooking so he’s doing his best.

The headmaster comes over and he gives him a tour. He eats the hotdogs, and then they start chatting. Dirk isn’t sure if he made enough of an impression or not, but thankfully at the end he’s informed he has made it into private school! He’s very happy.

He goes and tells his father of this new development.

The day was long, but Dirk still had his homework to get done. He ends up awake until 2 in the morning, but he needs to make sure it’s done so he makes a good impression on his first day.
